Please be sure you make yourself familiar with our terms and conditions for providing services and your obligations as a customer.
By booking and attending an appointment with Charlie King Sports Massage and Movement Therapy, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Appointments and Bookings
Appointments must be booked in advance through the agreed booking method. Clients are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date contact and health information relevant to their treatment.
2. Cancellation and Late Notice Policy
Charlie King Sports Massage and Movement Therapy operates a cancellation policy to protect appointment availability and clinic time.
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment without charge.
Cancellations made with 24–48 hours’ notice will incur a charge of 50% of the treatment fee.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or failure to attend an appointment, will incur the full treatment fee.
Charges must be settled before any future appointments can be booked.
3. Late Arrival
Clients arriving late may receive a shortened treatment session in order to avoid delaying subsequent appointments. The full appointment fee will still apply.
4. Health and Medical Information
Clients must disclose all relevant medical conditions, injuries, medications, allergies, and changes in health status before treatment. Failure to provide accurate information may result in treatment being refused or modified for safety reasons.
Charlie King Sports Massage and Movement Therapy reserves the right to decline treatment where it is considered unsuitable or unsafe.
5. Consent to Treatment
By attending an appointment, clients consent to receiving hands-on sports massage and movement therapy treatments using massage oils and related therapeutic techniques where clinically appropriate.
Treatment may include, but is not limited to:
Sports and remedial massage
Advanced massage techniques
Trigger point therapy
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue
Mobilisation (IASTM)
Dry cupping therapy
Dynamic cupping therapy
Assisted stretching
Mobility work
Rehabilitation and strengthening exercises
Clients understand that these treatments may involve temporary discomfort, muscle soreness, skin redness or tenderness following treatment. Bruising is not a typical response to treatment, however some clients who bruise easily or are on certain medications may bruise when deep tissue trigger point techniques are applied.
Please note that Cupping Therapies may leave marks that appear like bruises on the skin for up to 10 days.
Clients may withdraw consent or request modification of treatment techniques at any time during the session.
6. Under 18s Policy
Clients under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present throughout the entire treatment session. Please note that we provide shorter sessions for younger children from the age of 10 to 15 who would not typically be suitable for a full-length session.
7. Pregnancy & Post Partum Treatments
Pregnancy massage and movement therapy treatments are available only for clients with:
A low-risk pregnancy, and
Only after completion of their 12-week medical check with their healthcare professional.
Post-Partum you should be at least 6 weeks post partum to receive treatment.
Treatment may be refused if there are any concerns regarding client safety or medical suitability.
8. Pelvic Floor Exercise and Coaching
Pelvic floor coaching and exercises are adviced based on suspected weakness of pelvic floor area. Clients will be referred to a womens health specialist if it is suspected they have herpertension in the eplvic floor. Clients must disclose any relevant medical conditions, pregnancy, pain, or recent surgery before sessions. Charlie King does not offer internal examination or intervention.
9. Chronic Illness and Cancer Treatment
Clients undertaking exercise or movement instruction do so voluntarily and within their own limits. Clients must disclose any injuries, medical conditions, pregnancy, or pain before sessions.
10. Chronic Illness and Cancer Treatment
Clients undergoing treatment for chronic illness, cancer, or related medical conditions must obtain consent from their GP, consultant, or relevant medical professional before treatment can take place.
Written medical consent may be requested prior to the appointment.
11. Professional Boundaries and Conduct
All treatments are provided professionally and respectfully. Inappropriate behaviour, abusive language, or conduct towards the therapist will result in immediate termination of the session and future appointments may be refused.
12. Liability
While every effort is made to provide safe and effective treatment, Charlotte King of Charlie King Sports Massage and Movement Therapy accepts no liability for injuries or conditions arising from:
Withheld or inaccurate medical information
Failure to follow aftercare or exercise advice
Undisclosed contraindications
Circumstances outside reasonable professional conduct.
It is the customers responsibliity to inform Charlie King Sports Massage and Movement Therapy of any changes to their medical information before each treatment.
13. Amendments
Charlie King Sports Massage and Movement Therapy reserves the right to update or amend these terms and conditions at any time. The latest version will apply to all bookings and appointments. Updated versions will be made available on our website www.charlieking.uk
