Outstanding cancellation charges must be settled in full before any future appointments can be booked. Charlie King Sports Massage and Movement Therapy reserves the right to pursue unpaid cancellation fees through appropriate legal channels where necessary.
3. Payment Terms
Accepted payment methods: card, bank transfer & cash.
Payment is due at the time of booking if booking is made online via www.charlieking.uk website. If booked directly with Charlie King, payment in full is due at the time of treatment, unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing in advance.
Where payment is not received:
Clients will be notified in writing of the outstanding amount.
If payment remains outstanding after 14 days, Charlie King Sports Massage and Movement Therapy reserves the right to pursue recovery through a small claims process or debt collection, and any associated costs may be passed to the client.
Future appointments will not be confirmed until outstanding balances are cleared.
Prices are subject to change. Clients will be notified of any price changes prior to booking.
4. Late Arrival
Clients arriving late may receive a shortened treatment session to avoid delaying subsequent appointments. The full appointment fee remains payable regardless of the duration of treatment delivered as a result of late arrival.
5. Health and Medical Information
Clients must disclose all relevant medical conditions, injuries, medications, allergies, and any changes in health before treatment. This obligation applies at initial booking and before each subsequent appointment.
Charlie King Sports Massage and Movement Therapy reserves the right to decline or modify treatment where:
Relevant information has been withheld or is inaccurate; or
Treatment is considered clinically unsuitable or unsafe.
6. Consent to Treatment
By attending an appointment, clients give their informed consent to receive hands-on sports massage and movement therapy treatments using massage oils and related therapeutic techniques, where clinically appropriate.
Treatment may include, but is not limited to:
Sports and remedial massage
Advanced massage techniques
Trigger point therapy
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM)
Dry cupping therapy
Dynamic cupping therapy
Assisted stretching
Mobility work
Rehabilitation and strengthening exercises
Clients acknowledge that these treatments may involve:
Temporary discomfort or muscle soreness
Skin redness or tenderness following treatment
Bruising (not a typical response, but possible in clients who bruise easily or are on certain medications, particularly where deep tissue or trigger point techniques are applied)
Cupping therapies may leave marks resembling bruises on the skin for up to 10 days
Clients may withdraw consent or request modification of any treatment technique at any time during the session. Withdrawal of consent will be respected without question.
7. Clients Under 18
Clients under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present throughout the entire treatment session. Written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required before treatment can commence.
Shorter sessions are available for younger clients aged 10–15 years, as full-length sessions are not typically appropriate for this age group. Treatment will not be provided to clients under the age of 10.
8. Pregnancy and Post-Partum Treatments
Pregnancy massage and movement therapy are available only where:
The client has a confirmed low-risk pregnancy; and
The client has completed their 12-week medical check with their healthcare professional.
Post-partum clients must be a minimum of 6 weeks post-partum before receiving treatment.
Treatment may be declined if there is any concern regarding client safety or medical suitability. It is the client's responsibility to inform Charlie King Sports Massage and Movement Therapy of their pregnancy status and any relevant medical advice received.
9. Pelvic Floor Coaching and Exercise
Pelvic floor coaching and exercise recommendations are based on assessment of suspected pelvic floor weakness. Where hypertonia (increased tension) of the pelvic floor is suspected, clients will be referred to an appropriate women's health specialist.
Clients must disclose any relevant medical conditions, pregnancy, pain, or recent surgery prior to sessions. Charlie King does not offer internal examination or internal intervention of any kind.
10. Chronic Illness and Cancer
Clients undergoing treatment for chronic illness, cancer, or related medical conditions must obtain written consent from their GP, consultant, or relevant medical professional before treatment can take place. Written evidence of this consent may be requested prior to the appointment being confirmed.
11. Exercise and Movement Sessions
Clients undertaking exercise or movement instruction do so voluntarily and within their own physical limits. It is the client's responsibility to communicate any pain, discomfort, or change in condition during a session. Clients must disclose relevant medical conditions, injuries, or pregnancy before participating in any exercise or movement session.
12. Professional Boundaries and Conduct
All treatments are provided professionally and respectfully. Charlie King Sports Massage and Movement Therapy operates a zero-tolerance policy towards inappropriate behaviour, abusive language, or threatening conduct directed at the therapist or any associated personnel.
Any such behaviour will result in the immediate termination of the session, and the client may be refused future appointments. The full session fee will remain payable in such circumstances.
